A self proclaimed entertainment junkie, you can find SKY in a variety of circles; from the underground hip hop spots to sporting and professional galas.  “I love to be where things are happening and I LOVE music— from Talib Kweli, a Tribe Called Quest and Scarface to Frankie Beverly & Maze, Marron 5 and so on. I listen to everything. That’s what keeps you innovative!”Playfully mature, SKY is able to get down to the business when it comes to entertainment. She’s up on the latest events, movies, music and business ventures.

Where You’ve Heard Her: Sky is currently an on-air personality and host of the afternoon show “Sky’s World.”  She can be heard Sunday’s 3pm-6pm on KBXX/97.9 The Box. You can also check Sky out from 8pm- 9pm Sunday nights with G.T. and Walter D for “Straight from the Streets. “I literally fell into radio. I called into to the Madd Hatta Morning Show one morning to win Puff Daddy tickets, next thing you know I was filling out an application!” SKY started out working as an intern for free, then worked her way up the ladder. “I’m a big fan of people who intern in exchange for experience. Not everyone can afford NOT to get paid. But if you find something you don’t mind doing, then do it. Learn EVERYTHING you can learn, THEN GET PAID OFF OF IT! From promotions to producing, I’ve gotten my hand in a little bit of everything. It really pays off, especially when you’re a female. To have brains AND beauty is a powerful combination!” (laughs) As far as influences, SKY is influenced by the music movement as a whole. “I look up to everybody who is just out there DOING THEM, staying true to whatever it is they say they are about.”

Staking her claim in the world of music and entertainment, Sky Boogie is redefining expectations of women in the industry. “I’m just FULL of LIFE and full of focus in 2007. They say this is the year of completion, so I plan to have at least 3 major things completed by the end of this year.”  Aside from honing her radio skills, this aspiring multi-media mogul plans to pen a string of fictional novels based her experience with family, mentoring, relationships and how you can block your own success. You can also look for her to expand the “Sky Brand” with a few non-profit initiatives.

As for influences, “ I may not like the “shock jock” techniques of say a Wendy Williams, but I have to respect her hustle! She’s the Queen of Multi Media (aside from Oprah). They both are successful, have made PLENTY of dollars. And hey, they have to pass the torch sometime, right? “Aside from the money factor, the whole purpose for people in media, radio, TV or whatever is to network and gain that notoriety so that you’ll have the freedom to do you! Do whatever it is you want. My saying is, “The world is a stage, take your position.” With that said, it’s time for us to expand our vision.

I’d give anything to meet? Dang, that would have to be a REALLY special person to have me head over heels to meet them…Let me think about that one. (As of right now, nobody makes it to the top of my list yet.) I’m grateful to have met so many influential people from Cecily Tyson, Russell Simmons…I’d pretty much like to meet the behind the scene movers and shakers in the music and entertainment business. Respect to the artist, but the executives, management and support teams are who really make the industry go round.
